U-6 Dynamo

In an instant Jack's first soccer season came and went. Kelly signed me up to be the coach of the team... and then asked me if I wanted to do it. Funny how things happen some times. I can't thank her enough for pushing me to do it. It was one of the most fun and rewarding times of my soccer career. As a life-long competitive player and student of the game... it was truly an honor to bestow the first "soccer experience" on a group of terrific boys.

Futbol as I like to call it... is a beautiful game. It teaches life lessons of teamwork, communication, effort, dedication, responsibility and most importantly being a part of something bigger than yourself. (There is so much more to say here.. but I dont want to lose you !)

Anyway...as our first practice came to a close and they piled thier hands on top of mine in the huddle... I realized that I not only carried the responsibility of organization, teaching rules, basic skills and ensuring a good time... but also the responsibility of being a good ambassador of the game itself. I looked into the boys eyes and saw the next great collegiate player .....a future US National Team Member....and myself 28 years ago. It was a profound moment that I will never forget.

I couldn't be more proud of them. Here they are in all their grandeur.
