Officially Winter....

I realized yesterday late that it was the official start to winter, as the winter solstice came & went. I reminded Jack today while he helped me make a vege soup. It feels like winter outside. The last few days the temps have been below 20 all day, so we have been hibernating with warm fires & soup. We did get out yesterday & headed over to Stephanie & Matts to see the Johnson's. Yaya & Poppy aka Santa & Ms. Claus had fun handing out santa gifts. Mad unfortunately got sick last night so the night was long & today she finally was able to keep food down. I hope she will wake up feeling better. Hopefully the southern sun on our trip to NC will help warm us up!

Our Backyard Visitor

I think this is a hawk...trying to figure out what type. Since moving to Ohio, I notice so many birds of prey along the highways & even flying in our backyard, like this one today. We've seen this one before, so we are guessing there's a nest nearby. One day a few weeks ago we found hawk feather all over our deck where Moo & Sally were laying in our deck chairs...not sure if the hawk was after the cats or accidently landed next to Sally & got a swat!

December 08 already...I've gotten behind on updating our blog. Winter is pratically here...it definately feels it outside. Snowy mornings & cold wind make me miss NC ALOT!! The kids are super excited about Christmas. We put our tree up this week while my aunt was here. It was so nice having her here. I'll post pics. Ive gotten back into my knitting mode for winter. I'm teaching a friend's daughter knitting tomorrow...

Happy Spring Break!

Spring Break...came and went! We headed to Cincinnati for a fun Saturday. The art musuem was great. http://www.cincinnatiartmuseum.org/ Rembrandt was a treat..the kids enjoyed walking around. Jack loved the Egyptian art exhibit...lots of antiques. Ikea has come to Ohio...so we shopped there & followed the maze of people shopping! Wow! John enjoyed soccer alumni weekend at Methodist in Fayetteville.

Happy Birthday Madeline!

Madeline turned 3- March 7th 2008. We had a fun day! Started her birthday with a playgroup party. We enjoyed cupcakes & the kids had fun playing. Snow started falling around 9am & we are expected to get up to a foot of snow...our March blizzard! I can't believe Maddie's 3!! Time flies...She's learning & growing so much. Some of her favorites are books, games with Jack...anything with Jack..she loves her brother, and pretend play! She's talking & speaking her mind ALOT. Happy Birthday Madeline!
